WORKING TO STOP THE NTRA GRANDSTAND

WE ARE ALL AWARE OF THE REASONS FOR OPPOSING THIS DEVELOPMENT:

  • OUR COMMUNITY HAS A VERY HIGH BUSH FIRE RISK

  • THE GRANDSTAND WILL BRING INCREASED TRAFFIC TO BOBBIN HEAD ROAD

  • RESIDENTS ARE ADVERSELY IMPACTED BY NOISE FROM A PA SYSTEM

  • FIELD LIGHTING CAUSES DISTURBANCE TO WILDLIFE AND TO NEIGHBOURS

  • $3.64 MILLION TAXPAYER FUNDED GRANT WAS OBTAINED BY THE NSFA WITHOUT THE REQUIRED CRITERIA

  • THE D.A. IS BEING MODIFIED TO ALLOW IT TO BE FENCED AND GATED OFF TO THE COMMUNITY

  • THE COST TO TAXPAYERS IS IN EXCESS OF $14 MILLION WITH MORE TO BE SPENT

NTRA UPDATE

NTAG secured a meeting with the NSW Office of Sport to review the $3.64 million sports grant awarded to the Northern Suburbs Football Association (NSFA).

Following a request from NTAG, the NSW Office of Sport agreed to conduct a review of the $3.64 million Multi Sports Grant awarded to the NSFA.

This grant is for the construction of a huge grandstand, offices for the NSFA and other facilities at the NTRA on Bobbin Head Road.  It was awarded despite multiple irregularities in their funding application.

The President of NTAG and a group of local residents met with the Office of Sport Reviewer.

We will keep residents updated on the outcome.

ABOUT US

NTAG - North Turramurra Action Group - is one of the largest and most successful community action groups in the Ku-ring-gai LGA. The group represents the concerns of local residents in balancing environment with development. We encourage all local residents to join NTAG - just complete the membership form on the "Get Involved" page of this site.

Our role is to represent the views of local residents on issues relevant to them.  Our success has been made possible because of the support we receive from our close-knit community.

North Turramurra is a lovely peninsula suburb on Sydney's upper north shore, bound by the  leafy suburbs of Turramurra, St Ives and Wahroonga. It offers a semi rural feel and adjoins the Ku-ring-gai National Park and beautiful Bobbin Head waterway .

OUR NEXT NTAG MEETING IS ON THURSDAY 14 MARCH AT 7.30PM

WE ARE MEETING AT THE NEW 2074 BAR.

HOPE YOU CAN JOIN US.

ACTIVITIES

NTAG aims to help shape our community and to have a positive impact on the lives of those of us who live here. We are always keen to hear from residents and to see if we can help bring about change for the good.  We hope you'll join NTAG if you aren't already a member!
North Turramurra is so fortunate to have been bushfire free last summer.  Hopefully there will be ongoing assessment and oversight of the national park to help ensure ongoing safety of residents.  We are in touch with the relevant groups about this.

SANDAKAN MEMORIAL

We hope you have the opportunity to visit the Sandakan Memorial in Kirkpatrick Street from time to time.  If you would like to leave flowers at the memorial at any time please do so.   The new plantings have become well established and the memorial stone and bench and new overhead sign are great improvements.  A storyboard, that explains the significance of Sandakan, has been installed.  Thank you to the Dept of Veterans Affairs for the grant that funded this.

Do you want to make new friends, have fun and learn? If so, welcome to Sydney u3a Upper North - a friendly and energetic group (more information at sydneyu3a.org).
